Duration: The duration is one year with the option to extend to 2 years to achieve the Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. You will learn by completing assignments that are based on a range of theories which will be linked to work placement experience. When you have finished the course, you can choose to go into work straight away or continue with the 2nd year to accrue enough UCAS points to apply for university. The course is made up of units of study with subjects including developing effective communication, infection prevention & control, equality, diversity & rights, safeguarding, human growth & development, fundamentals of anatomy & physiology, personal and professional development, sociological & psychological perspective for health & social care. There will also be a range of specialist units to study. The level 3 certificate includes 200 hours of work placement and 300 hours of work placement hours if you continue onto the lvl3 extended diploma in year 2.
